Fat Bear Week has returned and the salmon are swimming for their livesThe public will, for the 12th year in a row, vote for the fattest of brown bears in Alaska's Katmai national park.- 🐻 Every year in Alaska, brown bears eat as much as they can to get nice and chubby.
- 🐟 The bears gobble up salmon fish from the river to build up fat for winter sleep.
- 🗳️ People all over the world get to vote online for their favourite fat bear.
- 🍼 This year, there are more baby bear cubs at the park than there have been in a long time.
- 🏆 The bear voting contest starts soon, and everyone is excited to see who wins.
Scientists discover the first diplodocus ever found outside North AmericaA 150-million-year-old fossil from Spain is the first confirmed Diplodocus found outside North America.- 🦕 Scientists found bones from a giant dinosaur called Diplodocus in Spain.
- 🌎 Before this, Diplodocus bones had only ever been found in North America.
- 📏 This dinosaur was about 25 metres long, roughly as long as two buses.
- 🦴 Scientists studied its tail bones closely to know for sure what dinosaur it was.
- 🌉 The discovery suggests dinosaurs once travelled between America and Europe long ago.

- Brown bears don't truly sleep through winter, they enter a special state called torpor, where their heart slows way down but they can still wake up if disturbed! Mother bears are so amazing that they give birth to and nurse their cubs while still in this sleepy state!
- The Diplodocus had the longest tail of any dinosaur ever discovered, some were over 14 metres long, almost the length of a swimming pool! Scientists think it may have cracked its tail like a whip to make a noise louder than a cannon!
